Vekquin - The Fetish Analyst™

This page gives a brief outline of what I do, why I do it, how I do it and with whom.

The one and only thing I do in my work is read the symbolic, unconscious language that is revealed through actions, gestures, objects, fantasies and thought patterns. In reading this symbolic language, which is a kind of symbolic logic, of unconscious patterns, repetitions and relations thereof, I discover on a profoundly deep level, why the fetish (or other type of repetition) exists, and why it is persistent, which is equivalent to discovering what is being attempted unconsciously through it. This approach is ontological in that its aim is to discover on the deepest level possible (on an existential or vital level) why people unconsciously develop abstract fixations, fetishes, etc., that eventually manifest as sexual perversions.

Sexuality is a heavily symbolic language. When people go through bizarre or extraordinary sex rituals, they don't do so for the simple sake of reaching an orgasm (even though that is how it may feel on the surface to the average, unreflective person). If the case were really that simple, millions of people at this very moment would not be risking their health, safety, marriages and financial security in the pursuit of sexual fixations. There are an infinite number of ways to reach orgasm, and the fact that many people develop a dangerous, destructive or highly disturbing method, shows that their intentions are far beyond mere orgasm.

Clearly, if people had the power to willfully, rationally dissolve their fixations, many would do so immediately in order to avoid the personal pain, shame, frustration and sense of emptiness and pointlessness that so often accompanies uncontrollable sex rituals. But the fact that so many people nighmarishly disrupt their otherwise comfortable lives in an unstoppable cultivation of a fetish and/or ritual act, points toward an ontological disturbance that people are trying to resolve symbolically through fetishism or ritualism.

In order to resolve the underlying disturbance, it is necessary to become acutely aware of the source of the repetition (the disturbance) on a conscious level. Otherwise, the ritualist is likely to repeat itself incessantly, yet never accomplishing the unconscious agenda, because when we act unconsciously rather than consciously, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to successfully carry out our intentions. It is crucial for those who desire to dissolve their fetishes, fixations, obsessions, whatever, to recognize and understand this particular aspect of the nature of humanity, because once an unconscious agenda is successfully carried out to its conclusion, its symbolic manifestation dies.

In essence, the purpose of analysis is to bring unconscious agendas into conscious awareness so that they can be dealt with fully consciously and responsibly. This is the difference between being asleep and being awake in life.

My ability to understand fetishism (and other kinds of fixations and repetitions) culminates from my lifetime of experience on the "dark side" of modern culture. (My most recent venture was five years I spent as a professional dominatrix in Seattle.) To learn more about my life experience, and how it has informed my theoretical development, see my vita.

Also, perhaps more importantly, I am an extremely perceptive and intuitive person. I'm what might be called an "empath", which gives me the ability to "feel" or "see" in a way, what a person is trying to tell me but is unable to adequately put into words.

The 'V' Method of Analysis

My self-created method of analysis is what I call the 'V' method because that is it's shape when visualized. It is a way of going down into a phenomenon, finding what lies hidden therein, then bringing it up to the surface while transliterating it into a verbal form so that it can be comprehended by the conscious mind.

The illustration below shows how there are three main stages to this process, with two substages. The process overall is inferencial, the same as the scientific method, although what I do is not nearly as much science as it is logic.

The V Method of Analysis

  • The first stage of the analytic process is to gather data, the more the better, since I form my analysis only on the information I am given, which means the more information about a phenomenon I have, the better and deeper I will be able to analyze it.

  • The second stage of the process is delving down into the phenomenon to study its patterns and repetitions using deductive reasoning to isolate and crystallize each symbol and its relation to other symbols within the given phenomenon.

  • Once I've deduced the phenomenon to its base elements or symbols, I study the relations of the symbols to each other, which is the point at which inferencial reasoning enters the process because deductive reasoning can not go past this point due to its inherent shortcomings. (Logical deduction fails to reveal the nature of the relationships of symbols to each other; such natures can only be inferred through experimental observation of phenomena and theoretical interpretation.)

  • In studying the relationships of repetitive symbolic gestures, images, thoughts, etc. to each other, which is a kind of methodical reflection, I then form my analysis by making inferences about what I have observed and declaring those inferences verbally, which then becomes the report, the last step of the process.

  • The observable patterns and repetitions which are manifestations of unconscious desires and longings may seem nonsensical on the surface, but they are actually a logical language contained in an obscured symbology that we are not taught to recognize and read in our ordinary social, cultural and educational conditionings, yet, the symbolic logic of the unconscious, which manifests in behavioral, thoughtful and phantastic patterns, is no less logically consistent than the kind of man-made logic that we are conditioned to operate out of in our ordinary consciousness. The logic of the unconscious is different from, though not inferior to, the logic that the conscious mind operates out of. There is a certain order and consistency in both conscious and unconscious logic though the form and content of each is drastically different. The conscious logic is a conditioned kind of logic, as opposed to the logic of the unconscious which is entirely unconditioned, pure and raw, which is why it appears bizarre to the uninitiated.

My method of analysis is anti-conventional in that it is logically rigorous and highly individualistic. To put it plainly, I do not take the approach taught by modern mainstream clinical psychology, which was founded in classical psychoanalysis, maintaining that there is one single explanation (usually a bio-mechanical one) for all people who share something in common, such as a certain fetish. That is simply untrue. It is often the case that several different people who share the same fetish do so for very different reasons. There are no simple answers to complex cultural phenomena. There may be common threads between different people who share a certain fetish, but common threads are not common reasons, they are only common traits. In fact, I have often found it true that two different people engage in exactly the same act for opposite reasons!

The theoretical orientation from which I approach psychological phenomena is derived exclusively from philosophy (mostly analytic ontology, analytic phenomenology and sceptical empiricism). I have studied philosophy and psychology (among many other things) for seven years at university, and at this point I can say without hesitation, that it has not in the least been my formal study of clinical psychology; rather, it has been my study of ancient and/or obscure philosophy along with my personal life experience, experimentation and reflection thereon, that has given me the ability to understand fetishism and other forms of underground sexuality.

Modes of Analysis: In-person, Telephone, VOIP

    In-person Analysis

I do three different levels of in-person analysis; basic, intermediate and advanced. The basic analysis is three hours long, the intermediate is between six and ten hours, and the advanced is on-going, as needed after either the basic or intermediate level are completed. It is best to start with an intermediate analysis, which is the same as the basic analysis except that it is stretched out over twice as much or longer time, which results in a deeper, more thorough analysis. However, if you are uncertain or unable to spend at least twice as long in the process, the basic analysis will give you a pretty good idea about why you do whatever it is that you are doing and unable to stop yourself from doing. My method of analysis is very intensive, thorough and respectful. It is very important to me that you feel comfortable talking to me, so that I can easily get the information from you that I need in order to figure out why you are doing whatever it is that you are doing repetitively. However, during our discussion, if there is anything I ask you about that you do not want to discuss, that is perfectly fine; this will not affect the analysis in any way except by perhaps causing the analysis to not be quite as deep or as thorough as it otherwise could have been.

An in-person analysis can take place at my office in downtown Tacoma (which is 15 miles south of the Seattle International Airport, and 33 miles south of Seattle) or at your hotel room or office or residence in Seattle, Portland or Vancouver, B.C. I go to Seattle regularly so it is easy to set up something for that city, but the other two I don't travel to very often; only once every few weeks.

    Telephone Analysis, Worldwide

This mode of analysis usually occurs in sessions of one to one and a half hours each through the duration of the analysis, then at the advanced level, it is almost always done in one-hour time slots.

    VOIP, Worldwide

This mode of analysis is the same as by telephone except that we talk to each other through our computers rather than through the telephone. (I am currently looking into the possibility of calling people internationally to their land-line phones using my own land-line phone connected through the computer. See the news page for an announcement that this option is available once I've figured out how to use this technology.)
